Evening all,
I've kind of come to the stage where I would like to get a diagnostics tool that covers many brands and gives a reasonable level of functionality.
My main requirement is that I can interrogate the various ECUs/Control Modules in the car, along with actuate everything etc. Also, it would be great to be able to program things like injectors and other basic coding tasks.
By no means am I looking for an expensive advanced unit, which would offer STAR level diagnostics for multiple brands.
Two friends of mine have an Launch unit with a bluetooth OBDII dongle that was about £800 I think. I remember playing with it before and it fitted the bill perfectly. It was an Android based tablet unit. Unfortunately I can't find it online.
Also, what's the deal with software updates, that are usually free for a year or two. Is that just to cover new cars, and also any new tests/features they discover for older cars?
What have you guys used and what would you suggest?
Say for example, my budget might be £800-1000 .. what would that get me?
