Afternoon all, just driving through Crewe top down and wind through hair (still have some which is good) from a nice canal walk (Malkins Bank near Sandbach) with the dog and other half. Got a flash and a nod off another MB owner going the other way (nice silver SL, Y registered). So hello to you all and you if it was you! Nice to be part of a club and nice to see the old traditions are still very much alive!

R230...about to purchase will update shortly
This is good to know... ive driven my SL350 from East Devon up to Tenby for the weekend via the gf in Swansea, but I've not seen a single SL on the road - where is everyone?!.. I will say thought the new A477 from St Clears to Tenby is a brilliant driving road.. particularly going west and it has also fantastic views coming back east aswell if you're in that area.

Take it steady on the A40 past Bancyfelin as they double speed van the dual carriageway regularly…

Thanks for the tip! I try and always keep an eye out for vans and other sus vehicles if I'm 'approaching' speeds they may find 'interesting'

I find most SL drivers usually return the wave, I'm normally on the A49 if going south of Sandbach on my way down to Market Drayton. Roads around Sandbach/Middlewich/Crewe are a nice drive.

In all of the cars I've had in my lifetime, and I have had a couple of interesting ones like Lotus Elan, Sierra Cosworth and so forth, I have never had another driver wave in acknowledgement. One finger maybe :D

Or Two, seriously though, the most nods/waves/thumbs up I've had, was when I had my Smart fortwo the original mk1 version. :)

You get endless waves in an old Defender. Literally every other Defender driver waves at you. I prefer having a passenger so they can wave, otherwise it gets tiring after a while.

I get loads of waves if I'm out in the old classic, even get approached at service station's and carparks, young and old
The Missus isn't too impressed if she with me though, means too much talking.....:D
