You I believe understand my concern, about us running our ML270, into remote parts of Australia, up to 1200 miles from a MB Dealer.
There is a company in the UK Maverick Tech, who market a software package called carsoft, that allows checking for fault codes, and more importantly the resetting of codes.
Whilst at the moment, they are only selling complete packages, which would suit someone like yourself, they have indicated that they may sell me a package just to do my car.
I still expect it to be a considerable amount, but with my Lap Top, if we do break down, I should be able to establish what is wrong, so that I can tell MBAU what the faults are.
Their site seems to indicate, that in the UK, some MB dealers have purchased the package.
When you have a moment, can you share your thoughts on this product with me.
If you would prefer, not to put them in a public forum. You may care to come back to.

Thank you for your very kind help.
