Don't see many Range Rover models up the top of the list. Now I have nothing against JLR bur my son-in-law has a three year old XF and he has been plagued with error codes on the dash. However Jaguar now insist that they have nailed it and it has been clear since November. Hope it stays that way

Yes, I only picked on the SUV's because of the reputation the Range Rover allegedly had gained for reliability. As far as my son-in-laws XF is concerned that has been an ongoing thing for the two years he has had it. The strange thing is that even though these error codes keep appearing they havn't affected the way the car itself has performed.

I did an Experience day at East or about 4 years ago. Brand new FFRR V8 TDi. Half way round the course it brought up a suspension warning light. Instructor told me to shut it down and restart it (must have worked for Microsoft in a previous life).... It wouldn't restart. They ended up sending us another one and they took that one away again.

I owned a 2010 XF for 3 years (3-5 years old), never once let me down and the 3.0s diesel was a dream to drive. I sold it as too many on the roads and it no longer felt special. I must confess I would still like an XKR but refuse to own a rag top.

My son-in-laws is a 3Ltr Diesel, and yes, that engine is so sweet and loaded with grunt. A real peach of an engine

I second that, very knowledgeable and always there to help.
My 1972 Triumph has let me down twice, one time the points closed up, second time it was condenser failure. Oh just remembered another time when it refused to start, so took another car, next day it started
Done 39,000 miles in it in 9 years, what percentage do that work out at

He has been on the Jaguar XF forums and it would seem that the problems with error codes is more common than Jaguar will admit I am slowly bringing him round to think 'Mercedes'. My wife tracked my daughter down to Robinson in Norwich yesterday afternoon. When she asked him about it he said 'Just looking'
