So the time is coming to change the front tyres on my CLK and I have reached a dilema.

Currently all four wheels are sporting 245 sections, bear in mind these are the 17" AMG wheels, with the fronts being slightly shallower in width to the rear.
Now the manual says these wheels should have 225s at the front and 245 at the rear, which is what I was planning on doing.

Now my question is; might there any reason why my fronts had 245s (handling, comfort, tendency to leak etc.) other than the previous owner assuming that all wheels were the same...?

Advice would be appreciated :)

They should be staggered, 225/45 Front and 245/40 Rear, how they fitted 245 to the front is a mystery as the front wheels are 7.5" wide which is too narrow for that width of tyre

I would suggest you remove all 4 wheels and make sure they are on correctly then fit the correct size tyres
