On our new '2nd hand' A140 (X-Reg) it has a Blaupunkt Cassette/Radio with Dublin C30 DMS printed on the cassette door flap.

How difficult would this be to replace with a CD/Radio?

I have not removed the radio yet but would like to know if the connectors at the rear of the radio are faily standard with radios today?

Thanks
Jeff

Blaupunkt CD/Radio

If it's of interest I have a Blaupunkt Toronto RDM128 DMS Radio/CD which came from a 2001 Mercedes. It is the standard size and has the standard Blaupunkt plugs (stack of 3 connectors of 10, 8 and 8 pins) on the back. It also has the Key Card security system.
I bought it to replace my Merc's Radio which I thought had died, then found it was actually the wiring to the battery that was faulty and have left the original 1995 Blaupunkt in place after all.
I have all the instructions, paperwork etc, and it worked fine on testing.
Let me know. I think I paid about £120 for it, so I wouldn't let it go cheaply! if you want to do it more cheaply, most Motor Spares shops would be able to sort it for you with a cheap unit for £50 or so. The connectors are not such a big issue as they would have the necessary adaptors.

David,
Thanks for the offer (not just to me), after speaking with the wife she has agreed that she doesn't need a CD player as she only listens to Magic on the radio. I know, no accounting for taste - lol

I might look into a radio with iPod dock at some point in the future.

Regards,
Jeff
