Hi all,

looks like a good forum for some much needed advice!

Bought a 98 A140 a few months ago, fine until now. It keeps cutting out on me at junctions, and sometimes i go to start, it sounds like its miss firing, though it doesn't miss once on the move. getting to be a real pain now!!

no warning lights come on, so a bit stumped as to where to start looking. Have heard lots of things about the air meters, could it be this??

any help much appreciated!!

Welcome to the site, yes would say that a air-mass sensor sounds like your fault, you would need any fault codes read to be 100% sure!!

I think it is the air meter on some cars the the idle is the first to go.

Welcome to the forum

Some other answers will come in

thanks for replies, as for idle, when i come to a junction or suddenly stop, and it doesn't cut out, you can see the rev counter go down to 0000rpm, then hover back up to around 500-650 approx!!!

That then supports an air-mass sensor fault, could be another i guess, but thats the starting point!!

i'm hoping to have access to a fault code reader/scanner at the weekend, what codes should appear if it is the air mass meter?
