Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have owned a MB for 15 years and never had any issues but recently due to ulez I have had to buy a new car to comply with ulez.
The issue I have is the same one that one member posted back in 2015 but he never got a reply or at least not one I can see, the lcd display was very dim when I bought the car so of course as most would think it needs replacing, not a very hard job anyway I removed the clock cluster and checked for connection and wire problems, I left the unit unplugged for about 5 days then refitted it and to my amazement it came on very bright but after a while it just started dimming again, this happens everytime the car has not been used for some days, starts off bright and then dims to the point you can hardly see it.
I am hoping someone here will have an idea of what maybe causing this problem. The previous owner installed a large screen Chinese Android stereo with a can adapter to work off the steering controls but apart from that there are no other upgrades.
Look forward to hearing from you.
