My [year 2000] A160 clonks once when accelerating briskly from a standstill, and clonks [again once only] on the overrun.
I can reproduce the noise with the car stationary by selecting D [clonks once] then R [clonks once].
I know that the drop links are relatively new, any ideas anyone?

whats your dash selector saying at the time, if you have F showing where D should be the you need a new valve body!!

Thanks for your reply, colechelle, the dash display reads correctly at all times.
