I have seen various similar posts but none that are exactly the same so I would appreciate any guidance ...
My first key fob got immersed in water and no longer works, so used my spare. All working fine but then stopped working - zapping away to no avail.
Checked batteris by looking into red area and it flashes after a few seconds. Changed batteries anyway - still no luck.

So, I called Mercedes and they said absolutely no way is it a synch problem and must be due to the fob being broken and they could get a me a new one. My natural distrust of stealerships led me to here.

So, if I am to embark on trying to synch it and incurring the wrath of my neighbours for an incessent alarm ... what do I need to do and how do i disable the alarm if it doesnt work?

Thanks all!

Hi

You should have two alarm keys, one black one red, inside your vehicle there should be a female plug for this key, if you put the black one in it should disable your alarm. The red one is for synchronizing new fobs, (I Think).

Try the red key and then resync if everything elsehas faild

Note: the female plug may be either to the side panel of the dash orin the glove compartment.

Good luck
