A170 Avantgarde Headlamps

Hi guys,
My wife bought an A170 and last week I spotted that the left dip lamp had blown. I ripped my hands to shreds trying to get a new one in and ended up losing it down the inside of the lamp cluster. I've managed to loosen the light cluster off a bit, but I still can't get in far enough to reach the thing. Any ideas?

Hi

Changing bulbs ara a major pain on the Aclass. I take it you have the owners manual and have removed the panel inside the front wheel arch and are accessing the headlamps by reaching in from inside the wheel arch. You also have to undo the coolant tank and the window washer bottle inside the engine bay to generate a bit more space (depending on which side you are reaching in). It tells you all about that in the user manual.

I managed to change the headlamp bulbs on mine after much pain and frustratiion - when it came to changing a sidelamp bulb I just couldn't reach it and ended up taking it to my friendly local independent garage and paid them to do it - it just wasn't worth the hassle!!!

Thanks, the manual doesn't tell you about the hatch in the wheel arch. I'll give it a try, once my hands heal up.
