Hello all

I've got this A Class 170 CDi ( with ACS Gears ), first reg June 2000 and the car has just failed it's first MOT!!! :?

18 months ago, it needed two replacement injectors at 40K on the clock, now with 77k on the clock, the same two injectors need replacement, not only that but the head has had to come off to get one of the injectors out at it's well and truly stuck.......

Has anyone out there in MB land heard of this happening, and while I'm at it, the ACS gear systems also have a tendancy to surge when stuck in slow moving traffic or when I'm parking, making small movement difficult, could this be due to one of the injectors not working correctly?

Like the car, the local dealers been great, but I'm loosing confidence with this one :(

Any suggestions???

Regards

There have been threads relating to surging on power take-up.

Are you sure the injectors need replacing. They can stick if gummed up.

Give the car a good thrashing with a dose of injector cleaner, and always thrash it hard before an MOT test.
Most smoke test failures are due to soot trapped in the exhaust rather than the engine emissions.
