a170 cdi rattle

I recently bought an A class 170 aventgarde 2000 auto which has a couple of problems.
First it only does about 40 mpg best. Even after new filters and good oil The local merc garage have said one injector is slighty out of limits and want £1000!!! to replace it.
It also has the most anoying rattle from the near side rear I have checked suspension and all things inside altough I still think it may be the rear seats

The labour times involed for getting to the injectors are quite high. The turbo has to be removed along with the inlet manifold. It could be possible that the injectors are siezed into the cylinder head. As they are held down in pairs two injectors maybe required.
The rattle from the rear could be worn trailing arms and broken road spring.

The easiest thing to do is to remove the rear seats and go for a test drive.

If the road spring was broken, would it not just pop out on the A Class ?
