A170 drive shaft broken - big job?

Hi,
I've just had a call to say that the drive shaft on my sisters 2002 A170 has broken and was wondering whether this was a common thing and if its a big job to do?
Any help would be appreciated.

A Class Drive Shafts

Hoping that somebody else might have a better answer.....However, I had a quick search but didn't find anything to suggest that it is a problem on the A Classes, although I think there was a broken B Class drive shaft recently on here.

Hopefully some of the meccys on here might be able to help as to the kind of job it is, but at any rate it will almost certainly be necessary to split the suspension before the shaft can be withdrawn from the hub, and that might need a press.

There should be a better answer somewhere..........?
