Afternoon All,

I'm new to the group and to being a MB owner too. I've recently purchased a 2017 A180d Auto AMG line.

I've had a good look through previous posts and can't find anything related to my specific issue so please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place or not been able to find previous threads.

I have Android Auto activated on my command unit (please see photo). However, when I plug my USB cable, which is manufacturers original cable, I get nothing. I have Android Auto on my phone and when I go to 'add car' it just says plug in to usb port.

I've read that sometimes there is trouble in the car setting up Android Auto and that it should easily recognise Apple Carplay.

So I've tried to attach Carplay through my son's iPhone and again nothing. To be honest, when I attach the iPhone it doesn't even charge the phone like it does when I plug my Android in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do I have a fault usb media port? Or could it be something else?

Cheers,

ShepsMB

Hello and welcome,

Are you using the right USB port? ON some there's only 1 port that will work with Android Auto / Apple Carplay - I'd also try different leads as well - genuine ones tend to work

Hi Blobcat,

Yeah definitely the correct port...the one with the phone/tablet symbol. But I have tried all the ports .

Used different cables, including original and even tried with different phone.
