Hi

After thinking long and hard, now the A class is out of warranty and we intent to keep it for decades, I am going to do DIY services , following the manual. Genuine MB parts of course.

Does anyone know how to reset the assyst service indicator? also where can I get hold of one of those oil drainer devices?

That should save thousands of pounds, bearing in mind the depreciation from new.

ok to reset your assyst.

Ignition on. Bring up the countdown
release the button
press and hold the button
turn the ignition off and straight back on again whilst holding the button
after 10 secs or so the assyst will reset
Good luck

Vacuum oil drainer

Sealy ( see any good motor factors ) do a vacuum pump type oil drainer for about £60. Ive got one and it works a treat. I think there are others on the market. Boat chandlers often stock them for draining marine engines. cheers
