Hi. I own a Y-Reg (2001) A190 Auto Tiptronic. Of late the car has severely lost its accelaration when pulling away from a standing start. Have to almost floor the throttle before it gets going, after which engaging to higher gers appears okay. Took it to MB who promptly advised me that the gearbox needs replacement - 6000 quid!
No way I wud want to spend that kind of money....before getting a second or even an n'th opinion...any ideas from anyone out there who were faced with a similar situation? Someone mentioned to try re-setting the computer - it might work! Any good advice gratefully received. Thanks.
