A190 service questions

Hi,

I have just had my A190 serviced (A service) and I have couple of questions.

1. Whilst servicing they found that the rear brakes were dengerously worn, so replaced them without asking me. They have also charged £22.36 labour to remove the wheels which I think is a bit much as it cant take more than 2 minutes !!!

When asked about this I was told that they use standard times when calculating an invoice.

2. I have also been charged for 44 units of oil at £0.99 per unit, what unit do they use as this seems a bit high at £44 for just the oil.

Hi

Sounds like you been into your local stealership. The standard times do specify a time for removing the wheels as they are not part of the service.

As for the replacment of the brakes. Normally I would not refer back to the customer when replacing brake pads. But I usually state when the vehicle is booked in for the first time that if the brake pads require replacement we will carry on & replace. We will not carry out any work if brake pads & discs are required. Before contacting the customer due to obvious cost implications. We would also give the option that the customer can request that he\she should be contacted before any work over the service is required.


As for the oil. Sounds like normal stealership prices.
