Hello!
I've been rebuilding a vandalised salvage A207 convertible for some months and I'm down to the final gremlins now.
I wonder if anyone could offer some opinion on this latest hurdle!?
It's a 2014 Bluetec 220.

Having finally got the TPMS to shut up and behave I'm now moving on to a EPS/ABS fault.

The steering side of it involves the EPS/ABS lights coming on as soon as the steering wheel is turned more than about 20° off centre. Xentry confirms a failed steering angle sensor and the traction unit N30/4 reports implausible signals from it etc.. As shown in the pictures below.

The original ABS/Speed sensor was changed due to it's wiring being damaged. The ring appears clean and complete when observed through the sensor hole. However, that wheel speed is wrong.
When stationary Xentry shows 0.00 km/h on all wheels bar the offending corner which reads 0.02. Once the vehicle is rolling (at fast walking pace, see below) the wheel speed is consistently twice the speed of the other three.

This, I know, is going to get on it's nerves.

Together with the above issues and most likely related or a common problem is the fact that it just won't drive.

At anything above walking pace it simply refuses to accelerate and appears to be trying to apply the rear brakes. It goes backwards fine but that's kind of impractical in the long run.

Other faults currently coming up include a sporadic failure to communicate with the battery sensor and a loss of rain sensor, auto lights and interior/tow away protection.
The above screen wind deflector is now also failing to operate and has no lights on it's switch. Despite this, I can actuate both the deflector and switch lights via Xentry.

I only mention these final few faults as a collective picture of it's situation.
My current concern is the ESP, the steering angle sensor and the inabilty to drive. I wonder if there is a common fault that I'm missing.

Thank you very much for reading. Any suggestions very gratefully recieved!

Did you use an original mercedes wheel speed sensor or a pattern part? I’ve seen non genuine sensors read double on some models before

That's a very good point that has concerned me. I didn't supply the sensor as I'm carrying out this work for a family member. He bought the actual sensor.

Which turns out to be this:

I wonder...

It needs a steering colum module/steering angle sensor (all the same)

When it says "there is an Internal fault" its internal to the sensor.

Update on the above.

It was indeed both parts at fault.
The steering angle sensor has now been replaced and shows the correct readout on Xentry. The ESP lights are all off.

The wheel speed sensor was a pattern part which as previously mentioned above by Uncle Benz, may read double speed.
Indeed it did. This was replaced with an OE Mercedes item, all speeds are now equal and the car no longer slows itself down.

All in all a great result and thank you very much for the pointers.

Now to sort out the misbehaving roof which opens but won't close!
