Hi all, have a dodgy rear SAM on my 2005 A209 CLK Kompressor - does anyone know if the 209 545 09 01 replacement part I've found is compatible with the faulty 209 545 08 01 I have? HW & SW codes the same, Q is also different. I have trawled all the tech notes and can't find anything! Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

original
A 20 954 509 01
superseded by
A 20 954 523 01
superseded by
A 209 545 17 01

which suggest the one you have is not the right one..... and the spare is correct but not the last one out there

@mattkh - no, not yet
@Botus - ahh, that's interesting. Is there any benefit to getting a 17 01 for example, though presumably any of above will work - and does the q , s/w & h/w number matter as there are a few different ones out there?

maybe....

newer = younger = ought to last longer
later hardware and software means it might have more functionality e.g diagnostic capability might be better
but what I have found its go to new and they seem to have made things work worse rather than better..

I just went backwards on my rear sam... newer hardware and away from the current sw that doesn't work right back to sw that was messed with when the car was in production and the distance cruise works better than the software they force on the car under SCN these days....

also just bought another module to test that theory on the heater as that's **** on the current SCN junk they pedal

Great, thanks for the advice - think I'll plump for the 09 01 with the same h/w & s/w codes.

as I suspected they do software updates to regress features to make the new cars appear better

changed AAC module today - old software was better, quieter yet more air flow. It looks like the fools doing the facelift changed the fan set up to a linear mess, when the grown ups previously had 1, 2, 3, 4, that were usable and then only go silly if its been cooking in the sun

MB 2218700091 (original part)
HW 05/16
SW 10/44 2219002402 (updated to junk software in 2019) was SW 05/46 from the factory

now

MB 2218704292 (current spec part)
HW 06/48
