A4 service for C200 Coupe 2.0petrol 2018

Alright Guys

Just had a crazy quote for a service from the dealer for an A4 service. They also advised the spark plugs and air filter to be changed at a cost of £270 parts included.

My question is if I do the plug and filter change would this void my warranty? I would prefer to use Mercedes approved parts they have said £77 for this kit.

Also I should have full dealership service history as the oil filter changes will be carried out by them and they will reset the service clock on the esu.

Anyone with any advice is much appreciated, ie spark plug gap size, torques for plugs, approved part recommendations.

Hello and welcome,

As long as you service to manufacturers recommendations then warranties cannot be denied. Proving it could be a challenge but if you buy the bits from MB then you have proof

If you go to a Mercedes Independent dealer and they use genuine Mercedes parts your warranty will remain intact, also they can update the DSR which you can't. They will also be able to access the current records for you....welcome by the way

That bit worries me. Is the extra actually due now of are they just “suggesting” it to improve their income?

To maintain your warranty, you should have service “and additional items” undertaken so you need to clarify this.

additional items no - sir you have a few thousand left on the pads and the disks need doing too.

Thanks for the advice guys I will ring a couple of independent merc garages and get some prices from them. They will use the correct parts am sure and give the correct service plan

For the op as an idea of Indie pricing based on my prices the rough cost would be the following:

Service £185.00
Plugs £95.00
Air filter: £54.00
