I've just got a 1995 Sprinter 312D.

Needs a little work (side door's goosed, few bits for the MOT), but I got it for a price I couldn't refuse.

Does anyone have any details on the ABS system? ECU location, pinouts, what the wheel sensors should measure on an ohmeter?

The ABS light's on and I need to fix it for it's MOT.

Thanks.

I didn't think ABS was fitted to the original sprinters so maybe this was an optional extra? Before you try anything else make sure your brake lights are working as on a car I once owned when both brake light bulbs blew it knocked out the ABS until they were replaced and it cost £40-60 for a dealerto find this!!!

No, the brake lights work.

I thought ABS came with them all.

anyway, mine doesn't work - anyone know know where the ABS controller and ABS ECU are please?

If it comes to it, I'll just wire it to the glow plug light for the MOT :p

hi there on a sprinter the abs control unit is located in the abs pump assembly under the bonnet. There is a great big plug on it where all the wires go back to.

As for each sensor I dont have accesss to the diagrams any more but I believe it is 1.8kohm at each sensor. A few things to check for arewires melted over the rear axle ie exhaust been dropped and melted the loom.
around the front wheel area as the wires may have been cut and reconnected if it has ever had ball joints fitted. If you do trace the fault to a rear wheel sped sensor then You can cut and solder the broken sensor wire to the other side then it reads the other sides signal. Cheap way of fixing it although it will probably have to go on to a computer to reset the light
