abs

Hi folks,have a 1996 c180 w202.The abs light is all the time.Been having a look and can anyone tell me if the rear wheels have abs as well.Cannot see any sensor or any wiring.Any thoughts appreciated. REGARDS JON-H

The rear has one sensor on the diff. Also worth checking the OVP relay, could be as simple as the fuse(s) on the top of the relay

It's best to get a diagnostic test done. Speed sensors and the ovp relay are usually the common culprits

Snag is that not all 202 cars have a OVP relay, the one with the fuse on top

Yes it up on the firewall behind a plastic cover, with fuse on top

thanks, fuse ok, relay clicking when car switched on, assume ok.rReplaced the f/n/s speed and abs senser last year Will have to dig deeper .Is there a simple way to check sensors, had it on diagnostic, didn't throw anything useful up. regards jon-h

If the lamp is illuminated there is a current fault. It needs to go on a star machine really. You can check the internal resistance of the sensors with a meter, and spin the wheel to see if the hall effect is working.
