The Blower motor on my 95 E320, has packed up,I have had problems in the past which is usualy fixed by fideling with fuse 12,now nothing will get it going.
Is there a blower motor relay somewhere that might need replaceing or cleaning ?I have the Merc E Class Bible(american) which talks about a seperate blower motor fuse, it's certainly not in my engine M104.
Any help much appreciated

Hi,

W202 C Class Merc blower motors have a resistor pack as part of the blower motor assembly. It is prone to failure which results in the motor working some times or not at all. E Class may be the same. I checked mine by confirming that current was getting as far as the resistor pack but no further. A small indy garage sourced the part at less than half the price MB quoted and I'm told it is a very simpe job to replace.

Regards, Kevin

Normally the motor brushes are the point of failure. If you do a search on this Forum you'll find lots of posts on this topic

If you get to the motor and put a meter on the feed to it you'll soon know where the problem lies. It'll be a wet & messy job in this weather!

Thank you both for your help,I am going to put a seperate fuse onto the motor and see what happens,

It is not wise to run a seperate 12v cable over the exsisting control unit,do unplug that first.

Thanks Malcom not understanding anything about electrics(if it can't be seen I'm not happy, which is why I prefer plumbing!) I'm not sure what you mean,My indipendant suggested putting on a dedicated fuse, which he says they do quite often,as it happens the E class bible suggests the same remedy
