Has anyone ever tried to remove and clean the oil sensor on an AClass?

I have heard that on some models cleaning the sensor can make a difference to the Assyst service intervals...

As part of the sensor measures the oil 'quality' and part the temperature both these measurements could be affected if the sensor was very dirty.

Can you remove the sensor without draining the oil?

I would like to 'capture' the signal pre and post clean to see if it gives a more favourable reading, but it would only be valid if the oil stayed the same.

If you topup with new oil, it does extend the service interval.

So if you drain way a few litres and replace with new oil, the oil quality sensors input to the assyst computer will extend the period.
