Yes. Any safety related warning is a fail.

Is it? Because it is not mandatory?

I think any warning that stays on is a MOT problem.
There is problem with wife's Fusion central locking and often door open warning.
I don't lock the car at MOT time, no warning.

Yes a door lock problem is a safety issue, after and accident door should be open, but active bonnet is just extra aid for cyclist wanting lay on your bonnet... but I won't argue, it can be stupid things like "is it is installed, it should work". We (Finland) had similar thing back in time, if car had headlight wipers, they must be working in MOT.
