After the episode back in December with the AdBlue tank, i don’t want to take any chances but I’m wondering whether there is any difference between AdBlue brands? I tend to stick with OE for most things, but I’m thinking that AdBlue is AdBlue and so brand doesn’t matter? Is that right or should I buy the MB AdBlue?

TIA

I’d follow the general advice here which is what ever you buy, just make sure it has a recent date of manufacture. I’d also say just get what you need, any left over over bin it.

I used to get Halfords/yara or something. It came in clear tubs and then they started packing it in large Jiffy bag type things. I thought it was good as ad blue is said to be best stored out of direct light but, even those bags leak around the lids, so I don’t trust the air tightness.

I think a few different companies make ad blue but, I can’t see any of them making any changes to final product like petrol for example.

I top up with Redex from Screwfix and keep it to the max.

Since draining and refilling with anti crystallisation additive about 3,000 miles ago, let me touch some wood, I have had no issues, that I was getting no weekly with the ad blue related warnings. I have also left it alone not keeping it topped up.

I will siphon and refill the the system with the additive in a few months. That way it’s changed circa 5,000miles and within a year of last doing it.
