Hello
I had an issue with my GLK 250 where the adblue metering valve blocked and leaked. Had nasty fluid leak into exhaust and under vehicle, smoke coming out, goo coming out the rear exhaust (see pictures). My Mercedes service center sent me this diagnosis today:
Excess adblue fluid damaged the SCR assy, upstream temperature sensor, SOOT sensor, wiring harness. Mufflers must also be cleaned due to contamination.
They are saying it would normally add up to 8000$ (CAD) and will be charging me 975+tx as Mercedes was going to cover the rest. I have an extended guarantee and in my point of view, if the part that failed is covered, the damage induced by its failure should be covered as well.
Also, could someone tell me if there is a link: the week before this happened, I had to bring the car in because I had an alert about the Diesel Particule Filter was giving an engine warning. They charged me an hour of work: they was a hose that needed to be reconnected. Is there a possible relation between this and the Adblue valve? Have they forgotten to do something before handing me the vehicule?
Thank you
