Adblue warning light and Engine Management Light

Hi. The 'Check Adblue see owners manual' came on on my 2018 E220 (Cabriolet if that makes any difference) so I bought 5 ltrs to top up but less than 3 ltrs later it started to spill out the filler. I have driven the car and the warning message still comes on and now the EML comes on as well. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks

The level sensor has most likely failed
Unfortunately it’s integral to the tank and £££ to replace, where are you based as a decent indie can replace for much less than a main dealer.

Please update your location and “your Mercedes“ as it looks like a password at the moment…

If the car has a full MB service history I’d certainly take it to them and complain this just shouldn’t happen to an 18 plate car this is starting to happen every week on the forum. The ADBLUE tank heater and level indicator as BC is a very expensive item and I would be asking for a considerable contribution towards the replacement cost from MB. Not good is it these units should last at least 10 years

Thanks! That's not good news!! I'm just outside Glasgow (Kilmarnock). I'll try and hunt out a local independent garage unless anyone had any suggestions?

Another adblue case. MB really have dropped a clanger with this way below par system.

Adblu deff of. An unreliable bodge designed to tether u to a dealer robbery scheme last owner of mine replaced at ,fitted near 1100quid great dealer scam rubbish sensors and maker won't sell tank sepperately so to get bit of wire a plug and sensor is a grand fitted utter boxxxxxx as often said, with maker current policy it's delete for me. If that changes to common sense and decent price I will review the idea.

Look into how much it would cost to delete and map out the Adblue system. I think you will be pleasantly surprised

Garage confirmed today that there is an issue with the adblue pump. They've quoted £312 for change of sensors, and if that doesn't solve the issue another £800 to replace the tank.

Definately that, any garage that says - could be (and may cost more) questions their expertise

Its not broke so I'm not fixing it.
