Well adblue, egr thing of past now. I have retained access to the origional software in case makers ever resolve. But after over 1200 on replacing it just before my time. I had enough of stopping in laybys to read codes and delete 500 to go ect. Same on egr stupid design blocking plastic inlet manifold . Prob, hope won't face that f u anytime soon.
Now waitin. To see wots next

shame it has to be this way but understand folk that do as it can turn into a money pit, mercs just aint built the same imo.

Yup. I was not fond of the plan but as is long dist plans esp within EU or further are a stressful headache, cos some pxick can't design system properly, or it simply can't reliably do the job.
However I have the plan to reinstall if situation changes. Meanwhile I hope not to continue with the stressful scanning of dash every few mins to see latest display drama.

What is the situation in France about removing Adblue? Seems to be an illegal mod in the UK.

Prob same everywhere now, issue prob came from EU in first place.
My info there is little or no monitoring of this outside commercial vehicles.
I sure not worried about it, I have kept option of re instate if situation changes
I am just not spending all my cash on shxte system that seems doomed to further premature failure
And I am tired of driving along staring/waiting for the next 500 to go before no start issue 3 times in recent 3 visits to France.!!!!!!

And currently no fault in last 500 miles. So what's the f story. If diagnostics specifically pointed out error component I might feel different. But it does not!
Last one was adblue pump power supply cut off too early, and not seen since.
Others adblue malfunction see manual (as much use as tits on a bull)
Another 500 miles before no start, f grand when 501 miles south of ferry ports. Where car can't be left running, wot w, s dreamed up that shite,.

I thought modern diesels were pretty clean without adblue if dpf is working correctly anyway so in my mind just more crap to go wrong and it does at great cost, if you were keeping adblue, tank,pump,etc i would think every 5 years it would need money to keep it working.

More than once in 5 yr. I think it's maybe reliable if ur 0m651 in delivery van. In family car I bet not.

My w205 hardly used any Adblue at all, there was a guy who tested the W205 in real world driving with all the equipment required to do so and found it was an extremely clean engine, unlike some of the other makes he tested.
That all changed after the first Nox sensor failed at 35,000 miles, Mercedes not only refused to pay a penny, but after replacing it and updating the software it now used 2 to 3 times as much adblue and mpg was also slightly worse. Power may have been down too, but hard to say without a rolling road.
The worst thing though, was that shortly after Mercedes had their hands on it, it felt as though it was just itching to light the EML at the slightest provocation.
I had to carry Icarsoft with me if I went on any long journeys to clear the codes, my Indy tested everything on STAR which came up as working correctly, but still got the EML out on the road. Who ever designed these systems should have been shot.
