Hiya guyz..... hope everyones been enjoying the weather. Personally, i cant wait for some rain. (Never thought id say that!!)

Had a question for someone in the know............. i want to add a cd changer to my audio 10 unit. (I have a W203 C200K - pre facelift). What is the model number i would require? Would an MC3010 work with my audio 10?

Also if i ever decide to retrofit a Comand system would the cd changer be compatible?

Thank you in advance.

That's the correct one for your model.
The fibre optic cable and the power supply should alreay be in place behind the glove box
If you upgrade to Comand, the MC3010 would still be OK.

I've yet to come across a w203 with the cables already in place!

I have installed the APS30 + CD changer in 2 of them (one 2001-51. the other 2002-52) and both had the power supply and fibre optic already in place behind the glove box.
Just takes a bit of looking and poking to trace the cables.
The easiest way is to remove the existing radio and look behind if it's connected at the back
Here is a link that shows you how to remove your existing radio.

Compatibility of an MC3010 with Audio 10 CD

Hi - I have an SLK230 with an Audio 10. Would anyone know if I could install an MC3010 in the armrest box and if so whether the cabling is already there?

Hope you can help

Many thanks

Hi,
I think that the MC3010 is too big to fit inside the armrest.
I have a SLK230K and I fitted mine in the net on the back, behind the passanger seat.
I have run the fibre optic and the power supply under the centre console.
It sits snuggly in there and is easilly accessible from the driver seat.
Don't forget to change the position of the mounting springs on the side of the CD Changer if you fit it vertically.
The cables are about £30 from the dealer

Thank you Marnix - I'll give that a try. Would you happen to know where I might find a copy of the installation guide for the MC3010 as mine was fitted a few years ago and they didn't leave me any documentation.

There are only 2 cables to connect (See pictures)
1. Fibre optic
2. Power supply
Once you have the 2 cables from MB, just connect 1 to 1 and 2 to 2.
Press the CDC button on the radio and your CD changer will be detected and playing. To return to the radio, press FM or AM
