Hi, can anyone tell me how easy/difficult it is to add a cd changer to the comand unit. I know that on the 2004 C Class the comand unit has changed to Becker/Harman unit and is not the same as on other classes of mercedes.

Will the wires already be there and therefore will just need connecting into the back of the unit. I also believe that an optic cable is used, again will this be there or is it easy to add into the optic loop. Does the comand need to be reprogrammed or is it "plug and play".

Merc garrage have indicated that it will cost around £500 to have this fitted which seems a rip off to me!!!!

CD changer

I'm in the same boat mate. I've emailed a company who specialises in this sort of thing. When I get a reply I'll let you know. I want an MP3 / CD multichanger.

I've been down this road with other makes. Ask your local car hi fi shop, There is usually an aftermarket converter available to allow you to hook up another make of changer (panasonic, pioneer etc). They can usually do the whole job and you won't know the difference.- except in your wallet!
