Yes, sorry, I can see there's been a lot on here about CD changers already but..... ;-)
I've just bought my lovely C200 CDi (04) to find that it's got no CD changer.
Miraculously my Alpine CD changer (CHM-s630) that I just took out of the car I sold would appear to work if I get the head unit changer (KCA-430A) available for about 140 quid (and I thought it would be the changer that was expensive!)
So, all is looking good until I start reading about radio codes and Bose sound systems. I've got the Audio 10 CD but have no clue whether I have Bose or not - how can I tell and what does it make any difference to the fitting ?
Also, I get the impression that the Audio 10 CD from that year doesn't have a radio code so I should be fine to take the battery off for a while when I'm fitting - can someone confirm this at all?
I also saw someone talking about booting up the fibre optics? This was in relation to putting in a blue-tooth phone adapter (which I'm not doing but it looked interesting) - Can I assume that the adapter kit will handle all connection issues for me - does anyone know?
Other than that - am I mad - will this be as easy as it seems? The glovebox looks like its a tiny, extremely well managed, space so can anyone tell me whether I'll have any problems putting the changer into it in reality?
many thanks
John.
