Hi, I’m new here so hello to all.

I have a A180d on a 2019 plate and I am trying to find out if I can manually adjust the headlights for European driving or would I have to use the stick on things?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Rob

If you don't have ILS or HID headlights you'll probably need to use stick ons.

Download MB Vin Decoder and put your VIN in. It will tell you what was specced on your car from the factory.

Welcome. There are so many variances with different models and specs that it’s very difficult to give you a definite answer. Much as I hate to point you to another forum, you may find your answer here.

does a stick-on 'beam bender' still work on a modern clear plastic headlamp lens? I'd have thought there'd be a shutter inside the back of the headlamp that shut off the up-sweep to the left .... there was in my R Class with projector headlamps, likewise my Omega with HIDs

There sometimes is with projector lights but not with reflector lights.

Hi. Well the Vin code reader says under lights the following

Static LED Headlamps, Left-Hand Traffic
I guess I’ll be using the stickers

Check the beam pattern against a wall.
If it kicks up to the left on a 30 degree slope you'll need stickers.
If it's more or less level straight across you don't need anything.

...and there's no option in the dash cluster for 'right hand traffic'?

No nothing at all regarding the lights , I’ll try the beam against a wall later this evening and see what’s what ? At worse I’ll just have to buy stickers !

cheers for all your help with this

What a ballache. Why can't it be in the damn handbook, yet another issue made WORSE by tech /marketing. I don't want to need a PhD in auto electronics. I just want a simple page in the owners book telling me how to set my lights to euro travel, preferably without a£££ visit to a dealer laptop!!

Did you check the link I posted on my first post above? One of the threads there quoted from the manual and said:

“Notes on changing the lights when driving abroad
It is not necessary to change the headlamps. The legal requirements are also met in countries in which traffic drives on the other side of the road.“

That probably means you have a symmetric bean pattern which works fine on either side of the road.

No I’d missed the link entirely . I’ve just read it and sounds promising?
