ADS? As far as I know only 1990s SLs have ADS (unless Mercedes have reused a TLA).
Wandering rear end is usually tyres, alignment or worn bushes (or on some cars subframe failure).

Jus because its passed its mot doesnt mean there arent a couple of bushes that have failed so get the complete set up checked with a decent pry bar

Its an ML W164 with Airmatic ADS. Goes up and down, can select sport and comfort. Going over bumpy situations rear end seems to bounce left or right, wanders and feels un-stable. MOT literally just done with no mention of bushes. low speed round town very noticeable 25-40mph. No dash warning? ???

Hello Alan
o
I have the same problem, It feels like a PO ferry, Like a car with normal shocks which are totally worn out. There does seem to be at least 4 suspension arms on the rear plus the wishbone.
I think the rear shocks are very worn mine are wet at the bottom, like you just passed a MOT?
I bought mine at the beginning of lock down, This is the first Mercedes I've ever had always VAG group.
The arms on my previous Audi A8 at the front were a known problem which I had to change all of them.

So to those who are very familiar with Mercedes what sort of mileage would you consider changing those arms and bushes even if you checked them with a pry bar.

As far as the rear shocks go would you use Arnott or Bilstein.

The Audi suspension arms would only last a couple of years even with OE parts, The design was same as A4 but with all the extra weight.

A fear this is going to cost much money, At the moment for me it will have to wait as I could be furloughed until September.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will give us a better idea.
Mines a 57plate GL.

Regards
David

Hi and welcome.

As you only bought it at the start of lockdown you're still covered by the consumer act - why not contact the dealer and get them to sort it?

They paid for one air bag that was leaking, Warranty didn't want to know. I paid for the other one, I fitted Arnott bags and aerosus compressor and valve block.
Also had to replace the intake pipe and filter, bought from a German website, only took 4 days, Some UK sellers need to buck there ideas up when buying on Ebay.
Garage have just bought a S/hand comand NTG2.5, As mine stopped working after 2 weeks of ownership.
Now I will get it fitted.

Under the consumer act the seller is obliged to pay for all of it. Under the act you're covered 6 months.
