Pictures always look better than the real thing, make the effort and go see it, the rust looks like it could be difficult to repair as it looks like its been there some time. The drivers seat isnt pictured so expect that to be worn.

Take £1000 in cash with you and make it known the money is on you, have a look have a drive if your happy and can justify investing some time and money on it then go for a deal.

best of luck.

Thank you for the advice. I contacted the seller and he confirmed the vehicle was okay, apart from the 'auto box which is holding in second gear for several seconds. :(

I'd give that one a miss. The rust is in an unusual location and gearbox problems could be cured with a change of ATF and a tweak on the vacuum pipes, or could cost £££, at 215k I'd suspect the latter.

There are plenty to choose from I'd bide my time.

Best of luck

Tend to agree with Ade the rust is bad on the roof panel and the only way to make that good is to cut out the rot and replace with clean metal. But having said that if the price is right and your prepared to give it some investment then theres no reason you couldnt have a really nice coupe.
For the investment costs though you caould buy a good one anyway but ahving said that my dad paid top wack 10k for a 95 320, hes just had a fully on respray, new AC system compete!!!, new brakes, any broken or damaged plastic trim on the interior replaced, new rear screen and trim.

He wont get the money back on it but there again he will never sell it either, so as long as hes happy then theres not a problem.

I once owned a Pontiac Transam with rust in exactly the same place, around the windscreen, I was horrified when I removed the screen to find almost all of the lip that the screen bonded to was rotted away, it was a VERY difficult repair!
