I'd recommend George Fraser too. I've used him for a few things and recommended him to others. I still get my routine servicing done by a Main dealer, George looks after troubleshooting etc.

Another good place albeit further afield is Mercury (Mercedes & BMW specialists) in Aldershot (Hampshire) 01252 318 318.

I used them to replace the Front Discs & Pads on my W203, came to about £300 all in using original discs & pads. MB wanted 450 and George Fraser was about 375 I think.

thanks

many thanks benzo
will give him a call.
a little worried though by comments of owners from mbclub.co.uk forum.
that say he is brilliant, but overloaded with work and has employed some dodgy techs, who have mucked up work.

Has not happened in my experience though. Most of the time I call before I go and speak to him about what I need done. He probably is not the one that always does it but at least he explains what needs to be done and the options.
That said my car does not give me much trouble so I see him about once or (seldom) twice a year.

Hi, I'm going to visit george fraser in alperton for a quote today on some mechanical faults so I can post back a review.
Have you heard of mercs only in hanwell? Any reviews? They're always advertising really cheap servicing, just wondering if they are any good?

Heard of the place, went to try them out and...lets put it this way....Walked out before they could begin to bill me....
