Ok, so I did a big search, and knowone has answered this directly, so I thought I'd ask.
Basically I am asking for me ma, who has a C200 Komp (Coupe). She has had the engine light come on and saw her authorised dealer, who had a play, cleaned the plug connections and I believe the plugs and off she went. 2 weeks later it happened again, went to the garage and he said it was the coils.
She's been back and had them changed (this was a bit overkill IMO as I would only do 1 at a time on my car, finding the faulty one, but there you go) and warned her if it wasnt that, it would be a big issue costing about 1k to sort!
Anyways on looking on here, alot of people seem to have had compression issues, is that a known problem on this engine? The bloke did say it was an engine out job, so could it be supercharger issues?
The car has only done about 60k, and is a 51 plate. The guy must have been worried, as he said if it was the problem he would reconmend doing another clean and selling it before it comes back!!! That is just nasty!
Before you slate the garage etc... it is a reputable place, whom knows my mum personally, so I think her was just looking out for her.
