Advice on CLK 320 please

I am considering buying a Mercedes CLK 320 Avantegarde 3.2 registered in September 2000 - never had a Mercedes before - anything I should look out for? Would this be a good model to have? Thanks

Had my '99 CLK 320 for a year and a half and 26,000 miles ( current mileage 92,500). Very happy with it. Average mpg is 27.7 with best on a long run being 32.9. Only major repair to date has been a rear wheel bearing replacement but the 'tin worm' has raised its' head in a couple of places (front wheel arch and boot lid).

Very comfortable car for long journeys, adequate boot space (coupe at least!) for a set of golf clubs and luggage, rear seats suitable for adults once they are in there!

Find yourself a good independant for servicing.

I will certainly buy another.

It's a solid car but if from year 2000 by now it may have high mileage so if you do get one have the ATF changed.
IMHO It's a relatively cheap but worthwhile bit of preventative maintenance. Your service manual may not show it as a requirement but you can read up on the why and wherefores in this Forum. A good Indie will do that for you if you are not a DIY type.

Also might I suggest you read up about the other CLK models (here in the Forum).
In general (other than the engine) they are pretty much the same - transmission, body, running gear wise.
