Hi All,

Appreciate any feedback or guidance anyone can provide for my 2008 Vito 120cdi auto (77k miles) before I give up and let a garage take over.

After little use during lockdown in the UK the battery died on MOT day so I jump started via the battery connections under the bonnet. Soon after, an ABS error started appearing on the dash and the auto gear selector would get stuck in Park. Now, the gears are not selecting or changing correctly and the dash doesn't show the correct great position either.

A few years ago the DPF was replaced after it caused limp mode issues. This year, a faulty alarm kept going off so I removed it.

I read, cleared and re-read the fault codes today (below and attached). There were a LOT!

I've replaced the brake light switch but this hasn't made any difference. One of the glow plugs is stuck and spins so can't be removed.
I used the correct dipstick to gauge the transmission fluid today but it was pretty inconclusive as was either dry or completely covered.
I'm now thinking of replacing the 13 pin O ring transmission adapter plug along with servicing the transmission fluid and filter. I wonder if I should replace the transmission control unit too?
I've recharged the battery and it starts but maybe a new battery is still needed first? Keen to get your thoughts.

I know unless the battery is good it can show up a lot of similar codes to what you've posted Antorumbo. not sure if youve surged the electrics with the jump lead. Somebody with better knowledge than me will be fit to tell you.

Thanks Kev! I honestly can't remember if I left the key in the ignition when I jump started it - I read that this can fry components. Either way, a new battery feels like a good idea.

Previous posts in the same vein, IE battery/voltage related are prone to showing multiple faults, which generally clear up when the battery is replaced and the voltage returns to normal.

Yep, how much is charging voltage? Did you already check ALL fuses?
