advice on oil sensor fault code

hi guys

recently when try to start my car(1998 clk 320) whether hot or cold, it comes up with a message "oil sensor deffective" sometimes. car has enough amount of oil in it thats why im a bit confused, was wondering if any of you would know what it means?
