Hi all,
Hopefully will gain some sage advice from this forum.

Having changed the injector seals, the turbo is on the blink.

Maybe corelative and irrelavant to the seal change, else perhaps i made a mistake in resetting the components? Nothing obvious such as tears but have not checked with soapy water yet (aim to do so over weekend).

Also this behemoth tends to run very cold. Full op. temp reached after minimum 30 mins. (and sometimes not even then). Even after 20 mins it barely hits 40 on temp gauge.

Fuel consumption dips to 12 / 13 even 8mph. Later levelling out at 27 - 32 urban.

Turbo can be seen to 'twitch' on (then immediately off ) when giving some gas. At any rate car won't go over 3000 rpm - but no problem getting to that rpm. It is not in limp mode and limiter not on (I believe).

Sate of the electrics isn't gr8 but don't believ that is the issue as I cleaned all connections with contact cleaner before assembly. Similarly MAF not fouled with oil.

I am desperate to mend and sell this behemoth as I need the cash - so please - no expensive 'solutions' unless really needed. Short of dousing it in kerosene and chucking a match at it I would prefer to fix her and say manyana.

So several problems which may or may not be connected. Any help would most certainly be appreciated.

Update

...forgot to mention... as the head had 'mods': I.e. oversize studs - rather than standard 6mm bolts on injectors 2 & 3, replacing the seals was a mission, one where three mechanics had previously failed due to carelessness! 2 & 3 also had their bottom caps replaced - then i replaced them and no tests were carried ou as i have no specialist equipment. Now, the top ends of injectors 2& 3 had to come off due to impossible clearances from the oversized studs in order to tighten the clamp nuts, before replacing the top end of the said injectors... could it be that one has mis-reasembled them - car seems fine with reasonable as can be powerr minus the turbo so would the injector operate ok at idle and upto 3000 then level out at that rpm? Another chap mentioned the computer needeing reprogramming or sommat. The wiring is poorly insulated but bout 18v to injector 4, 13-14 to 2, 12-13 to 3 and 4 AMS a gonner - but how would that affect the turbo. Only bosch one being sold bu Euro CArparts now and it's not cheap @ £163. As to the heating isue - have tried blocking half the rad and op. temp has improved a lot.

Any advice guys?
