Advice please on leaking diff on C class 202

Gents,

Whilst replacing the rear shocks on my c class (202) CDI220 this weekend I noticed oil around the rear differential. Sods law is that the end plate from where it seems to be coming is half obscured by a cross member or something like that, does anybody know how easy it would be to remove the end plate so that I could reseal it?

My w202 c230k Diff has had oil around it though not dripping wet since before i owned it i bought it at 24500miles it now has 125000miles on it it has remained exactly the same has,nt got any worse always gets serviced regularly and gets picked up and it never seems to have lost any oil when when checked.
Apparently is a common problem on some models, i,m sure i have read that it is a breather problem.
If it not dripping wet with oil, the level is ok and you don,t leave a patch wear you park I would,nt worry to much about it.

If it is anything like my W210 the oil breather has a tendency to block, this forces oil out of the seals. I had my breather replaced and 3 new oil seals, I could I suppose have waited as it was only dropping the occasional drip however I decided to get it fixed. I would recommend finding a decent MB independent workshop and getting it repaired depending upon how much it is leaking.

As everyone else, check that the breathers are clean, other than that its normal
