Advice please

A newbie, I have been a Mercedes owner on and off for 43 years, those including a W123 230 coupé, 380 SL, 1988 230E (W124) 2001 S202, S204 (200CD1 2014 and 2012)) the last two still owned. Having sold a Jaguar, I am now thinking of a car that I envied that was owned by a client. A 380SLC. All advice welcome - where to shop, what to look for, where to get a full report on condition , etc. The Jaguar having been well sold, the budget is probably around the top of the range of these cars, Or I would imagine so from what I have seen. Over to you the experts.
