Hi the suspension not sure but if the local garage don't want to take money off you then that's a refreshing change :D take it to a independent there are one recommended on here, it could be the local man my be a bit nervous of having a go these can cost ????? $£ upwards, as for the S/W think of it as Summer Winter settings, S mode it will pull away in first gear and reverse with very little effort from the accelerator pedal, W mode starts the car off in second gear but also give the car a second lower reversing gear, have a play with it. in W mode if you kick down or press hard on the pedal it should over ride the W mode and set of a warp speed.:-D just as if it where in S mode. o the newer one's it has S/C just selects a higher rev range to change gear ( SPORT/ COMFORT).

Hi

great car, I have the 500 but was looking at the 600 but decided after much research there was a few inherant and expensive areas to look out for.

I have diagnostics, if you want to come over to cambs I can take a look.

Thanks Guys, Jib does your CL feel like its suspension is rather on the hard side of being lets say sporty? and also would the diagnostics will show show up faults if the rear suspension is not quite right?

Best regards,

Liam

My CL has the standard coil and shocks setup and the ride is fine, nice and smooth and the road holding is up there with most sports cars.

I use carsoft legitimate version with the correct multiplexor which means my system reads all systems on the mercedes.

Carsoft will run diags on your CL, it wont fix anything or reset anything as your car I would assume does have a fault that could possibly only be fixed by replacing some parts. This was the reason I moved away from the 600 I think from memory your shocks are retail £600 and £800 each but the price is possibly less now.

You need to go to a Merc specialist - it is very complicated.

Both self levelling and ADS (suspension) with a combination of air spheres and hydraulic actuators.

It will likely be those items at fault.

The essential question to ask is - Have you worked on and replaced items on ADS suspension previously, and do you know the system backwards.

As there are not many of these cars around, not many garages will have the experience.

No not yet, I had a call at the start of the week to say friday (today) but nothings been heard since. I had to buy the new wing and pay for fitting and primer so Ive spent £500 ish.

Im not in a rush to get it back as the garage is full with two bathrooms. I expect it back next week as a week today makes it 4 weeks since it happened.

They still haven't thought to have them indoors in Cambs yet then? Still, I suppose it keeps you dry.
