Advice selling SL500

I have a 1995 SL500 for sale at the moment, its dark metallic with grey leather, 67k on the clock, 2 owners, all service history etc, Ive had it for 4 months now and not a sniff and I need it gone asap, its currently for sale at £12,500.

Does anyone know where I can do a proper valuation online for this car
please.

I sold both my R129s through word of mouth - if it's a good one it should sell itself.

Check Autotrader for prices - Parkers / Glasses aren't much use in my experience - enthusiasts will pay more for a good car. Speak to a few of the respected independent traders - Charles Ironside, AutoBarn etc.

Having seen the advert the only thing that may limit potential buyers is the fact it's the two-tone pre-facelift. The background in the photos could be better.

£11995 may see more interest.

We have just moved house and Im in the process of putting the front garden in skips, just started the 5th today and we've only been here 4 weeks. Ive got a huge drive space good for about 10 MB's, currently I have 2xw140 CL500, 1xSL, 1xSLK, 1xAclass, 1xCLK.

I have forsale on the windows and seem to get more interest from passers by than anything. I will try to get some better pictures over the weekend and also drop the price.
I'd like to keep it and sell the wifes SLK but she likes the SLK.

Doesn't look like bad example for the price, but then there are a lot out there at that price point.

A lot better (and realistic!) than some of the dreamers selling 1990 and 1991 cars.....a 1991 300SL with 5 owners, no history, no work done (roof, pump, headgasket, roof seals etc) for £10000 *cue laughing* I'll have some of what they are having!

I found my R129 too impractical for our flat (storing the roof was a *&(*&(&) so a CL is on the horizon.

Thanks for the imput, thats why I would like to keep it and and sell the SLK but the wife wont go that route.

I wouldnt mind keeping the SL for me but I dont go anywhere and we always take the SLK or A160.

Its an honest not messed about with SL just cant sell it, I prefer the CL over the SL as I tend to give the SL too much action as it drives like a go kart compared to the CL, the CL keeps me calm.

I have a 2001 SL500 which I have now decided to sell. It has done just 27,500 miles. Beautiful Silver, Full Panoramic roof, Xenon's, Black leather int. All in all, a beautiful example. After reading the advice given to the original poster, to ring Charles Ironside. I did, and was quoted £12-£14,000 for my car. Not what I would tend to believe as a fair price! So I don't think that directions to this dealer for a price is in the sellers interest at all.

My post was to gauge what the market price would be - certainly not to get a trade price - I would never recommend anyone traded a car to a dealer.

Incidentally yours is worth about £20k privately.
