Hi I'm wanting to fit an aftermarket Sony headunit to my wifes c220cdi however when fitted nothing happens, do i need an adapter harness as the audio 10 unit has 3 plugs going in and the sony only 2. The third plug just has 2 wires and goes in the top slot in the standard headunit, what does it do and is needed for powering the system.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi jemis 123

That plug with the two leads is for the steering controls.

On my c220 i found that I did not have a power lead that worked from the ignition. But the sony unit i had allowed for this by letting me take the wire that would get its power from the ignition and put it with the wire that always gets power.

That sorted it, for me anyway.

The only part i am currently stuck with is that I am not getting any radio stations. Not sure why that is as I am using a din aerial adapter.
