Hi,

I have a 1994 AMG E320 cabriolet.

When the car is running and I turn on the radio, the aerial extends correctly. However when i turn the car off, the aerial does not retract. I have to keep the car running and turn off the radio, wait for the aerial to retract and the turn the car off.

Ever other car i've had (including othe rmercs) retracts the aerial from battery power when the motor is swtiched off.

Is there some rewiring magic i can do

thanks, Soft Top.

Sounds like whoever wired it up, used a switched live (accessory circuit) instead of a constant live to run the motor. The ariel has 2 feeds, a switch from the radio to control the up/down relay and a constant to run the motor. The radio one is working fine but the motor feed is going off when you turn off the ignition. It shouldn't. Switch it for a constant live feed.

Thanks jberks,

should i see a live feed in the boot where the aerial motor is located? Is there a particular wire colour or should i get the multimeter out?

thanks for your help, SoftTop
