Hi all , I've not been on for a while and was wondering if any of you tech heads out there could maybe help me out.

I bought a w202 1995 c180 elegance back in February and I am now just getting round to fitting a new cd single unit (my wife has bought me one for christmas).

I remember checking out the Forum away back then and some people having problems with installing new units but I cannot find any threads on it after a search.

The CD player the wife has bought me is a JVC KD-G333 and I know I will need an ISO connector as the present unit is an older cassette/radio .

The new unit includes connections for power ariel / ignition bypass / ignition power up.

My problem is that, before I install it, I remember from searching the forums away back that some people had problems with their stereos not receiving a radio signal / power arial not working and a whole load of other issues.....

....so I was wondering if anyone can recommend any websites I should visit to see if this new unit is compatible or if anyone on here has successfully fitted one of these units....

Thanks very much in advance and take care....

Not that I can think of.

I don't see why you should have any problems when you come to install it, just buy the appropriate adapter if required.

A point to remember is that for some reason MB use very thin central wire in their aerial cables and this has a tendency to break inside the radio connecter. It is possible to fix using a screwdriver (to prise the connecter apart) and a soldering iron.

Oh one thing to be careful of is that you use the correct power connection for the ignition bypass. Some MBs hold the ignition high for a minute or two after you turn off the switch (for interios light dimming etc). My after market radio kept misbehaving - or so I thought - it turned out that I'd connected the semipermenant supply to the permenant input on the radio.
