Hello all, have any of you fitted, or know of a Merc being fitted with after market reverse park sensors?

I spoke to my local Mercedes dealership today & they were not prepared to retro fit after market devices unless they were Mercedes approved, the approved Merc version would cost £1,108.98 which I thought was a tad steep, hence the above question.

Hope someone will be able to help, because at the moment I,m thinking of scrapping the whole idea unless I can get them fitted for a more realistic price.

Regards to all

Some members have fitted the after market including the ones that stick behind the bumpers,so no drilling needed.

Have you checked with any online shops that do this

Hi Bob,

I have seen these offered by body shops at much less exaulted prices - £250-£400 IIRC - includes colour matching. I get the impression it is something they promote when repairing collision damage - well, it would be a sensitized captive audience, wouldn't it? If they can't sell them to someone who has just sustained reversing damage, they will never sell them.

The advantage that body builders offer is that the are familiar with the product and fit lots of them.

There are DIY offerings in the market at £25 and upwards, but I guess they will look less like original fitment.

My leccy fitted front and rears on our pick up.

He uses aftermarket ones from ''steelmate'', worth looking up, very accurate with replaceable sensors, interior front and rear displays which are small and neat, not cheap but good quality.

X Vision do a kit that BMW dealerships fitted. I had 3 sets at £50 each until some scrum broke into my old container and stole them.
